When you were a little boy
They came and took you away
And far across the rolling plains
For months on that caravan trail

Born to be king
In the highest domain in the world

O Lama, as king you cannot reign
But you people will remain
With their hearts turned to you
Their teacher, their leader, their lord

So show the world you're still the king
Keep on smiling, everything will be all right
And when the time has come to pass
Justice will be seen at last in the land of snow
You know the Dharma will remain
Spreading its light throughout the world
