Old as Hell

Oh well, I'm old as hell
I'm supposed to be wiser but I can't tell
My life's been a cherry pie
But I'd like a couple more years
Before I say goodbye

A couple more stormy Sunday mornings
Eating bacon and eggs
With my old girl with the silver curls
And the long long shiny legs
So here's my prayer to the man upstairs
I hope he's listening
Throw a couple more years, Lord, down to me

'Cause I'd miss those bar fights on Saturday night
And I'd even miss the pain
Of waking up with both eyes swollen shut
My money gone again
So here's another prayer to the man upstairs
This time I'm down on my knees
Gimme a little more time, Lord, if you please
