Sewage

I dreamed I saw my baby with sewage in his veins
A rotten apple in his chest, the one that spoiled all the rest
I stumbled seasick in the heaving rains
Our voices washed out by the sea
A shipwreck where his bones should be

I woke to find my darling asleep upon the waves
And darkness on the face of the deep
The ocean sings me back to sleep
