Shields in the Morning Light

When frost still clings to silent fields,
And dawn is slow to rise,
We gather where the river bends—
Steel shining in our eyes.
Wolf pelts drape our shoulders broad,
Blades gleam against the pale,
We march into the breaking day—

Boots drum time on frozen ground,
The banners catch the breeze—
For honor calls us ever on,
