Go to the Store

Wake up, open eyes, sun is out, surprise,
I need some milk, yeah, I realize.
Wallet? Check. Keys? Check.
Slippers on, I'm not dressed to flex.
Walk outside, don’t lock the door,
Forget again? Go once more.
Neighbors stare, I nod my head,
“Just the store,” is all I said.
Go to the store, don’t need much,
Bread, milk, maybe some lunch.
One step, two step, on the way,
Forgot what to buy—okay!
In the shop, I grab a cart,
I look smart but I’m not that sharp.
Pick up chips, not on the list,
I’ll get snacks—I can't resist.
Cashier’s lookin’ dead inside,
I smile big, “Hey, how’s life?”
Pay with card, decline once,
“Oops, try again,” play it off like fun.
Go to the store, buy one thing,
Come back home with everything.
One plan, big fail, that’s my lore,
Every day—go to the store!
Back at home, sit on floor,
Milk? Nope. Forgot once more.
Life's a loop, just like before,
Tomorrow? Go back to the store...
