You'd never know she was my best friend
Bein' so many years apart
I'm sure I was a pain sometimes
But she loved me with all her heart
For every bad day at school I had
She got me through 'em all

She used to laugh at all my jokes
Even though they weren't all funny
She'd never let us kids know
She was short on money
'Cause she always had enough
To pick up some ice cream for us all

When the memories began to leave

She remembered me
