Lighting strikes
I close my eyes
Start counting in my head
Until the thunder rolls
To let me know
The storms a couple miles west
I get on the horn
To warn the town
Of the rotation in the clouds
I should’ve been ushering my family
To the basement of our house
The doctor says I'm lucky to be alive
But wants to know what it was like

I see em all up on stage
I bought myself an electric guitar
That I’ve never learned to play
I came here to try and find you
To own my part in your pain

Im just not sure what i’d say

To try and look at the scars
I go to cut em off
They just move up any arms
Sadness like the Colorado River never sleeps
