Where Will Love Go?

Once I had a love, it grew so big it flew so high
But I had to say goodbye
With all the love inside my heart
I simply couldn’t seem to part with it, it needed somewhere else to go
With all the love I had for you I wondered
Where could love go?
I could give it to a flower
I could give it to a tree
I could give it to the person
Sitting right in front of me
I could give it to a lover
I could give it to the sea
I could give it to myself
Everything inside of me
While love was out discovering a million tiny special things
My mind wandered each day back to you
I realized this path of bringing love to every living breathing one
Would only work if I could see
The love I give I need to give to me
So I’ll give it to my fingers
And I’ll give it to my knees
Leave some extra for the spaces
Spaces where you used to be
I will give it to my mind
Working through it peacefully
Even save some for my anger
And all my anxieties
Where will love go?
