Twilight State (the Vespertine)

Into the dark I fall in between the dreams
awakening all the mirror versions of me
chaotic silence pulls me away from sanity
As the sun sets, I'm left in darkness
and as the auburn leaves fall dead -
all I was, all I am, drained like them -
drifting off the tree of life
I seek for a light inside the lost mind that I forgot behind
I see her there, a clear and sharp self smiling back at me
As I walk through dark valleys of death, I shall not be afraid
I am awake and the world is brightest as it has ever been through my eyes
The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world

To the dawn of new consciousness I awake
Enlightened to a new world I embrace
Into the light I walk, across the dreams
I gather all the ghost versions of me
accompanied by the song of the tree of life
together they fade in peace for they shall be left behind
