I Was Made Upon Waters

I was born in Good Friday, made upon waters
Tested in fire, chased by my demon
Ideals so bright when you are young
So easily destroyed when you're undermined
The fire's still burning inside of my heart
Some lessons in living would store it apart
But now I'm healed, the scar tissue holds
Little knots and stitches have made it strong
Return to the sea as my life unfolds
I can follow my will now and nothing is wrong
Will I be happy at the time of my dying?
Will it be easy or will I be crying?
I'm standing in between the dead and the living
Respecting traditions, giving them meaning
