Our rot corrupts the tree of life
Hanging from its weak branches,
our ropes are tight

The beasts are circling
Waiting for easy prey
Vultures glide above,
catching the reek of death and decay

Light diminishing, shadows enclosing

Solar expansion
Biosphere sterilised
Vanishing ether
Oxygen deprived

Barren wastes
Acid rains
Fire and ash
The world ablaze
Nothing will remain

Permafrost thaws
All will submerge
Dead stars eat us
in a cataclysmic surge
Lost in the void

Great catastrophes,
famine and drought
Ravaging plagues,
life's ember dies out

The rays of the sun
come beaming down
through the absent ozone layer,
searing and mutating the flesh
of the earth dwellers
