I have been listening to you
The things that you say
Hard to understand
Seems your point of view
Is confusing me again
I've been turning around
I've been giving it time
I argued, almost agreed
It's bothering you, you're telling me
I have raised my voice
Praised my own thoughts
Abused my authority
I am much older girl
You should be listening to me
Then you walk out on me as usually
My turn to get upset
You confided in me
But no longer you said
Perhaps I should turn on the TV
See things differently
The more I listen to you
I see my point of view
Standing in your way
I got my personal experience
What can I say?
I could easily pretend
That I do understand
Be dishonest with you
We would still grow apart
And it's worse if I start judging you
But I do then turn on the news
And more points of views
Was I expecting anything different
That happened in between?
They would do better than me
Better than me
But the same same lack of empathy
I cannot turn you into me
Perhaps I should let you be
