Sail of the Serpent

In the space between the trees across the sky
The waters run warm, deep and wide
A voice beyond the tongues of man
Compassion all I could understand

The moon wept for the Earth a way I never can

A chalice sundered, the wine spilled on the ground
The dream is over, there's nothing so profound
So just give up child, they're taking you away
Forget the mother, and conquer what remains

We feel the Winter, still the hills come down
The pain grows stronger, yet it can't be found
When there's nowhere left to turn, seek the ancient sound

Serpents - across the sky
Only children - still wonder why
Jesus - raised the dead
But who - will raise the living?

As the far off echoes and the sun takes hold
Becoming one as the fates foretold
The humans' trial may play a role
Or we may fall to grey and gold
Green to dust and dust to soul of Earth is lost beyond control
Solemn days, Winter comes
Goddess dies when dreams are done
