The Temple of the Worm

Walking through forest and grey ruin
Leaving the daylight behind
Deeper and deeper I'm searching
Afraid of the One I could find

I know that my body will fail me
It's eaten by this slow decay
Hearing the call of the wild
Demanding my soul everyday

I know my flesh will be the Temple of the Worm

Heart of the forest approaching
Surrounded by spirits of night
Colour arrives out of space
Reflecting my soft dying light

Rotten and violent terror
Reeking away from this grave
Into the white mass I'm descending;
mesmerized, shivering, pale

Serpent Heart, the eyes of fear
Guarding my final key

Bornless One, I call thee
come to me and set me free...
