High-Speed Feed

You can't blame me none, I've been waitin' on the rain
Did my dances, prayed my prayers, hell it never came
Quonset barn and a cotton farm, no water to irrigate
40/20 Diesel and that full anhydrous tank
It's granddaddy's land and I got one more trick up my sleeve
Gonna save the farm and that Quonset
Barn with a little southern chemistry

Rainin' three days straight, water seepin' through my soul
Got a batch I started up last week and I just can't let it spoil
Word on that county road, Mr. Carter's on my trail
Southwest, the wind keeps blowin' in
Here, they'll probably place my smell
One more for that corner store and that's all I really need
And I'll probably quit those midnight shifts cookin' high speed feed

The grass is lookin' green, I can see it for myself
Twice a day when they swing them gates and they finally ring that bell
They tried to stick a dime on me, but a nickel's all they could prove
And I sent that Quonset up in flames when they finally made their move
So if you're gonna farm then turn your dirt and plant your seed
And don't you go pining teeth cookin' that high speed feed
