Tabula Rasa

I awaken in the morning's dim light (memories)
And I'm lost, I don't know where to go (I've lost the sun)
As I walk, I wonder in the back of my mind (no matter)
Why it seems it's been so long (of things that are lost in time)

I walk 'till I stumble on a forest so familiar, in my memories
As I watch hoping, I'll find a face
A person so familiar I can hear it when they speak
I watch but I cannot see it
No one seems to stop under a silent sky
If I stay, time seems to pass me by
It pulls me down the current as I sink

I keep walking down the path that I found (memories)
I'm afraid to lost all that I've done (I've lost the sun)
But I know if I stick to the well worn and tried (no matter)
I'll be stuck without a way (of things that are lost in time)
