Moonshiner

I've been a moonshiner
For seventeen long years
I've spent all my money
On whiskey and beer
I go to the cellar
And set up my still
And if whiskey don't kill me
Then I don't know what will
I go to some bar-room
And drink with my friends
Where women can't follow
And see what I spend
God bless them pretty women
All wish they was mine
Ain't never pleaded for a penny
But you're all a-wine
Let me eat when I'm hungry
Let me drink when I'm dry
A few dollars when I'm hard up
And religion when I die
The world's a bottle and lives get drowned
And if the bottle gets empty
Sure ain't worth a dime
