Through a winding staircase which stinks
One emerges into a cell
Beyond the cell is a heavy oak door
Formerly locked
Which opens to another passage way
Leading to the safety of a mountain

The purposes of this passage way were
Protection of the castles water supply
A place of refuge
A place of torture and detention
And finally, and finally
A secret means of escape
