I wished I was in London, or some other seaport town
I'd set my foot on a steamboat, sail the ocean 'round

I'd think on handsome Molly wherever she may be

She rode to church on Sunday, passed me on by

Now Molly's fair and handsome, her fingers long and small
They told me she's good-natured, and that's the best of all
With hair as black as raven, eyes as black as coal
And cheeks just like the lilies out in the morning grown
