I once knew a girl from the other side of town
Desdemona was her name
I wasn't modest then so I'll be honest now
I'd like to see her face again
Her flippant charms caused me disaster
Her kiss set aside the pain
She'd sew my arms and I wouldn't put it past her
To disarm me again
Her coat of furs made my tenners turn
And all concerns vanished at her word
That night I sang was where we began
