The Boys of County Cork

Praise the brave battalions who fought the Black and Tans
From Liffey, Nore and Shannon, from Lagan, Shure and Bann
All honour to those volunteers who for duty did report
Yet the best of all our soldiers were the lads of the County Cork

Some of them came from Dublin, some of them came from Clare
Some of them came from Antrim, from Wicklow and Kildare
Some they came from London, Glasgow and New York
But the boys who beat the Black and
Tans were the boys of the County Cork

Rifles and revolvers were all that we possessed
A stick or two of jelly goodnight for arms we were hard pressed
Yet we used them gamely against all that they did sport
And none had so much bravery as the boys of the County Cork
