What's up, y'all? Tyler and BK here. We're Florida Georgia Line
And I'm Becca, and the reason that BK and Tyler are here today is
Because we finally get to celebrate the release of their fifth studio
Album, Life Rolls On. I feel like they've been teasing us about this
Forever, giving us some songs off there, but now we get the whole
Project, and we get the guys to take us inside the album, let us
Know what they were thinking about the songs, how it was in the
Studio. And the first thing that I wanted to know, I mean, there are
15 Songs plus an interlude on this album, so if you were gonna tell
People what it was like to record it, what it means to you, or maybe
What you hope they get from listening
To it, what would you tell them?
Personally, for me, I think it'sβ I mean, every artist says this with
Every album β I feel like this is our strongest collection of work
Our strongest project we've done. I feel like there's a nostalgic
Feel to it that kinda takes us back to our first album in a way
But also elevated, and it kinda showcases how much we've grown. But
Also, it's, it was a blast making this record. I hope that it's
Transparent, and I hope the fans can feel that through the music. We
Went down to the Bahamas and spent ten days down there doing vocals
On it, and we just had a blast. And we got to co-produce this record
With Corey Crowder, which wasβ This is the first album we've done
With Corey Crowder, and it was just the most fun we've probably
Ever had making music. I mean, it brought back the joy and
Uh, it was quite an awesome process. So, I just feel like
There's a lot of hope in this music, there's a lot of joy
And I feel like it's so timely for where we're at in the world
And we hope it brings some joy and, and love and good energy
Into the world for sure. It was definitely fun making it
Well, I can tell people it was definitely fun listening to it
As well. To track one, which is "Long Live," and, I mean
I think it's kinda self-explanatory, and if you hear it, you
Know what it's about, but for people who have not heard it yet
And we're about to play it, tell 'em what "Long Live" is about
Yeah, so "Long Live" is just a really, really special song that we
Wrote, I don't know, now probably a couple years ago. I remember
Being on the road, and we were on the Tree Vibes bus with Josh
Miller, David Garcia and Crowder, andβ So that was the conception
Of the song, and just really, we felt like the whole time that we
Were channeling, like I said earlier, that 2012 Florida Georgia
Line and just some of that real feel-good, nostalgic party music
You know? And it just felt, I don't know, it just had a really
Good energy and really positive and felt like it just took us back
You know, down memory lane every time we heard it. So, we just
Continued to listen to it and fall in love with it more and more
Over the course of the next year, and then came time to cut the
Album, we said, "This song's a no-brainer. It has to go on this
Album." It feels like such a big song and such a necessary song and
And a timely song, and even more timely now than ever. So, really
Thankful for that one and thankful for the boys we wrote it with
Well, I'm curious, this is kind of that tribute to the hard-working
People, the blue collar people, and I know that you guys kinda went
Into Florida Georgia Line from college, but did you ever have one
Of those just back-breaking, miserable jobs that maybe when you're
Starting to whine about what you're doing now, you think back and
You're like, "Thank the Lord that didn't end up being my career"?
Yeah, honestly, Becca, that's about all I ever had were those kind
Of jobs, from washing carsβ I mean, I owned my own car detailing
Business from the time I was 15, 'til me and BK used that trailer
To hit the road with. So between washing cars and cutting down trees
With my dad and his tree trimming business, I was always taught hard
Work. I was always doing manual labor. I was always working if it
Was daylight for the most part. So, I'm definitely thankful. I think
About that all the time. I'm so thankful. I still love to work hard
And I still love to get out and break a sweat and get a good blister
Every now and then, but, uh, there's nothing better than, than
Calling making music our job and to, to get to support our family
Doing what we love. I mean, it's the biggest blessing in the world
And just forever grateful for our fans that allow that to happen
Yeah, hard work is better when you're doing it 'cause
You want to and not 'cause you have to. And this is a
Tribute to all the hard-working people. It's "Long Live"
Off Florida Georgia Line's new Life Rolls On album
