The Logos

The light shines in the darkness
And the darkness cannot overcome

In the beginning was the Word
Who was with God and was God
All things were made through him
And the life in him was light for all

The true light that enlightens all
Was coming unto his own
But though all things were made by him
To this world he was unknown

And made his dwelling among us
We beheld all grace and truth
In the one and only Son of God

From his fullness we receive
Graces ever upon grace
For no one had ever seen God
'Til the Word revealed to us his face

We will see greater things than these
When the heavens open up again
The angels of God flying up and down
In the presence of the Son of Man

By this we now know love
Since he laid down his life for us
Now let us love one another
Just to show the world that God is love
We will show the world that God is love
