My Spirit's Willing

Well I got a few bad habits
I smoke and drink and cuss
And the doctor says I weigh about
Twenty pounds too much
He says to change my way of living
Or I'm headed for an early grave
And I say, "Doc, my spirit's willing
But my body just keeps getting in the way"

Well I can't get into jogging
I don't like exercise
I build up my table muscle
With my burgers and french fries
Oh, I should do aerobics
Yeah, I could be working out today

I should stop my drinking
It makes me act so strange
I try to walk up walls and end up
Wearing picture frames
I should stop my smoking
And try to slow down my decay

Well my wife she won't sleep with me
But friends that's not what hurts
She says, "You come on like Tom Selleck
But you're looking like Fred Burtz
Oh, honey lose a few pounds
And I'll jump on you right today"
