Riven Mirrors

Awake now with eyes open wide

While conscious fails to recover
Body still paralyzed
Doomed to observe, repeat, rewind
Slowly stand up and begin to trudge towards the light

Multitudes, stumbling
As our breath gets shallower
Our trembling hands grope for a sign

Deep down
Into this crevice where we sink and we respawn
Rocks like blades to cling unto
We only see what we're allowed

Until the clouds begin to thin out

And we're forced to witness
The struggle of one another
So then we'll know for sure
We are alone and yet we are a crowd

Cut from the cloth of the absolute
Riven mirrors reflecting an opaque light
We were given enough reason
To perceive our lack of time

The anguish flows and we're falling behind
Revealing our uncoincidence

With the phantoms of a lifetime
Let the current shape the riverbed
The trails and trenches of our next life

But excavate the depth of this sombre rift
Attaining a principle without form
A living force that breathes through us
