Festering Abstraction

Herds trample themselves in pursuit of salvation
Sheep ravenously gorging on each other's meat.
Eyes wild with fear
Clouds part revealing

Vanished stars
An Empty heaven staring down
Sins writhing deep, festering
The Bloodshed does not cleanse
Just Reeks of ill intent

My skin boils
Fear should not inspire life

Lies like ferrous venom
Take shifting form
Fitting any circumstance
The abstract keys to salvation
In the eyes of the doomed blind

Instruments of horror
Born for redemption
Wielded gracelessly

Bring their bearers
Regardless
Of chosen faith
Nor victims
Guilty of any sin
Closer to a god they both abhor

My skin blisters
Open sore pus soaked finger painting
Happiness drenched in sickening bile
Madness is all that remains

Flies infest
Prostrated carcasses
A rotting effigy reflects
The departed souls beliefs

Nothing is sacred
They will rot above the ground
A feast for the maggots
Bones to be picked clean

Names to be forgotten
Add mine to the score
This festering abstraction
