The Horrid Truth

Writhing worms wriggle through rotting flesh
Leaving white bones that turn to ash
But I have transcended
Into a being beyond mortality

Imbued with great power
My reach will be infinite
And shall blacken the skies
Of one million wretched worlds

In between space and time
I will horde the essence
Of their screaming souls
To sate my ravenous appetite

This black symbiosis is my salvation
And yet also my ultimate destruction
I have glimpsed a vision of the truth:
The darkened path is the only way
To earn my rightful place within the yawning void
