The Trip

The first time I remember I saw a rock fall apart
That time, heading for Anaheim still on the Washington coast line
Finally mom kicked dad and his drunken body fell head first
He stood up, bloody and threatening to call the police

So mom she took us kids down the coast about a mile
Turned off the lights and we stayed low and heard the cops roll by
I looked at the ocean and saw the whole thing come apart
I'm down on my knees
