Lightning Bird Wind River Man

If I was a bolt of lightning I
Would shoot right down and split the sky
In two and I would be so bright
I would light up the darkest night

Well maybe I'll come back as one
I think it would be lots of fun
To zap the earth and strike the sea
With a billion volts of energy

And if I was a bird
Out on the wing
The sweetest song
You'd hear me sing

I would whistle sounds
Like secret words
In a language
No one's ever heard

The tune around your ear would ring
So mesmerising you would think
That I was something quite absurd
More like an angel than a bird

But today
I don't want
To be anything else
But myself
Because today I am a little bit of all these things
There's a little bit of all these things in me
I got all right here in my hand
I'm a lightning bird wind river man

And if I was a gust of wind I'd blow
Around the world three times or so
I would pick up half and million leaves
And make a sculpture on the breeze

So beautiful that God himself
Would want to know how to as well
He'd offer me a handsome price
Just to be the wind in paradise

And if I was a river I would be
A raging river wild and free
I would find my way round anything
Just to get to where I was going

So treacherous would be my wrath
You'd never try to cross my path
I'd run so fast into the sea
You'd see the waves from Mercury
