I suppose you were hoping to keep me young
Didn't plan on being abandoned and it has stung
Never bothered to hear where I'm coming from
Our fractured conversations have left us numb

And all we have is time to kill
Or find a way to fight the ill

I went by the old house on the way upstate
They decided to make the yard a bit ornate
Where the woods were, now a driveway and a shiny gate
How I remember the place doesn't quite equate
