God made an expanse, split the sea from the clouds
On the second day of the creation accounts
Comprised of gas, and layers that holds air
The vault known as our atmosphere

Eugh!

Pulled down by the gravity, it's held in place
Layers of gases that make up a habitable space
Shielding us from and absorbing the ultraviolet light
Breathable oxygen to enter our lungs and protect life

Extending into outer space
To make room for the great lights
They'll shine bright for life to bloom
Way down below the great heights
