Dear Growing Up

Lately I've been staring at the sky
Looking everywhere for a glimpse of silver line
But shorter days are all I ever find
Something doesn't feel fair about the way they're passing by

Oh what a lie
When they said everything gon' be all be all right
But what good is everything if everyone's not by your side

I feel my youth slip away like the water on the pavement
And there's nothing I can do to slow it down
Mom and Dad are getting gray and I hate that I can't change it
I wish that they could always be around
