Ode To The Moon

With dreams distilled from ancient fruits
I washed upon the shores
Of distant lands with birds and plants
No eyes had seen before
I crawled into a mighty cave
Sought shelter from the storm

And through the night your shining light
My weary soul kept warm
When morning came beyond the pale
Still stood your silhouette
Upon the sky like ocean high
An island you were yet

Away from here
This cage of fear
To starry skies below
But in my constant solitude
I realized like you

And on my own I ventured forth
To seek what faith may bring
A strange new land beyond the sand
That bled eternal spring
And such strange creatures I did see
That soon my mind did flow
