Last Transmission

Floating above the horizon
I see the extent of our ruin
Veins of destruction spread wide
The smoke leeching like blood

From here there's a certain beauty
To just how far we went
Pushing against the odds
Confident we'd find a way

Then we reached our event horizon
And knew there was no going back
Marching towards our graves in resignation
We couldn't see any other way

Onwards to destruction
No aim in mind

Escaping stars only
