I've been pulled between the forces of my mind
And I've been pulled at times away from you.
My, how the years go by and they pick up speed
Like mountain roads and many months away from home.

Boys all have to meet their hearts and chase them where they go.
I knew somehow you'd wished you'd chased yours more.
The cities and the mountains all seem smaller as I've grown
But inward distance stretches on and on.

Behind beyond and two miles high I met you with my mind.
We said goodbye and you moved on down the ridgeline.
