This Unabating Wakefulness

I desperately long to find a place to rest.
At long last to lay my tired head -
Weary with a frantic pain,
Manic from this heavy yoke.
Like an old diviner my heart projects -
A mass of fear, worry, doubt, and shame.

I tremble, boil, and bubble over.
My burning eyes burst inside my pounding skull.

And i realize how far I must still go -
How disheartening this length of life,
This prolonged panic.
