Inviolate

Follow fog to where I found you.
((O holy earth, bright-flowering weeds
I sing to thee, I sing to thee.))
Hollow clearing, nearing evening.
We made a home in the empty space between two mossy stones, a nest of
String and lace - beneath where moths fly, circling in twilight
O holy earth -
O hollow place -
Inviolate and empty space.

Impermanent world, we lose what we hold -
But we made a home
In the space between
The endless past and the endless unseen.

Gray stone, rest now. Water will find you.
Earth is singing -
(I will hold you forever)
Earth is burning -
(I will hold you forever)
Rising water will hold you forever.
We are cinders rising upwards forever
