Memory Game

In the beginning
There was only you
I'm trying to remember
Words still ringing true

Just like the last time
You sought to undermine
You soucht control
And meant gains for you alone

But it's another day
And you're a different man
Seems my memory has stalled
Words mean nothing at all

So I say let it stay however it may
I don't see reasonably how I could be
Here for another day
