Peel the Skin

Soft like a breeze
Peel the skin and leave
Limbs and backbone
Twisted knees
Worn out faces
Withered trees

I'll fade
Like a bruise
Blue to green
With yellow hues
An autumn quilt of forest leaves
Wrapped around your roots

Weightless in the sea
The water buries me
And salts all that remains
To be washed upon the shore
