Sewage

I dreamed I saw my baby
With sewage in his veins
A rotten apple in his chest
The one that spoiled all the rest
I stumbled, seasick in the heaving rains
Our voices washed out by the sea
A shipwreck where his bones should be
I woke to find my darling
Asleep upon the waves
And darkness on the face of the deep
The ocean sings me back to sleep
