This band formed in London in 1961 as Johnny Saville and the Clee-Shays, then became The Zephyrs in 1963. Under the name The Zephers the band released six singles from 1963-1965. Upon leaving the Zephyrs in 1963, guitarist Jerry Donahue joined Fairport Convention. Peter Gage took his place and was their guitarist from 1963-1965. In 1965 Gage left the Zephyrs and then went on to play with Ram Jam and Vinegar Joe.
