In "Back to the Beach" - the very impressive directing debut of Australian music video director Lyndall Hobbs (I wish she'd make another film, this one is a blast!) those "Beach Party" sweethearts of the '60s - Annette Funicallo & Frankie Avalon - are now married with children (Demian Slade & Lori Loughlin) and catching up with old times (and old flames). Avalon duets with Connie Stevens to the backup of Dick Dale and the Deltones back them up (two of Avalon's sons - Tony and Frank Jr. - play in the band) while Annette sits on the sidelines fuming. The song: "California Sun" was a big hit for The Rivieras in 1964 and was written by Black songwriter, producer, and jazz great Henry Glover. Screenplay by Peter Krikes, Steve Meerson, & Christopher Thompson. Guest stars include Peewee Herman, Jerry Mathers, Tony Dow, Barbara Billingsley, & Edd Byrnes, Don Adams, Bob Denver, and Alan Hale
