Saved the best for last! This final video from CHICKABOOM DELUXE for "Roimata/Cry Myself to Sleep" is my favourite, as I was lucky enough to perform this waiata with one of New Zealand's musical treasures, Troy Kingi. Last year, I had the incredible honor of being asked to perform one of my songs in Te Reo Maori for the project "Waiata/Anthems", an album of songs comprised of some of New Zealand's mainstream songs translated and performed in the indigenous language of NZ. Singing this in Te Reo breathed new depth and life into this song, just as indigenous culture and language always enrich anyone who opens their arms to it.
