Jal Bin Machhli Nritya Bin Bijli (transl. Fish without Water, Lightning without Dance) is a 1971 Bollywood romance film directed by V. Shantaram, with Sandhya and Abhijeet as leads, along with Vatsala Deshmukh and Dina Pathak.
The music of this movie was composed by Laxmikant–Pyarelal. Lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri. The album has popular evergreen songs like "Taron Mein Sajke Apne Suraj Se", "Baat Hai Ek Boond Si", "Kajra Laga Ke", "Jal Bin Machhli", "Jo Main Chali, Phir Na Miloongi", "O Mitwa", "Jhoom Ke Gaa Ae Dil" and "Ek Toh Jawani Ke Din Char" sung by legendary artists like Mukesh and Lata Mangeshkar.
This was the first Indian film for which all songs were recorded in stereophonic sound. The film, however, had mono soundtrack.
Plot : Alaknanda, a rich girl, runs away from her father's house and joins an entertainment troupe to pursue her singing and dancing passion. Soon, she meets with an accident and is amputated.
