Toyota's Gazoo Racing division has created the C-HR GR Sport, a performance-focused edition that will presumably remain a Japan exclusive.
Building upon the 2020 refresh that will soon arrive in the US and elsewhere, the GR Sport features its own unique styling with vertically-oriented edges on the grille and side intakes.
The package has received an additional brace under the floor to improve chassis rigidity. GR tuning extends to the coil springs, shocks and stabilizers, while the electric power steering has a more responsive feel.
Japanese buyers will be able to choose from either the 1.2-liter turbo engine with a six-speed manual gearbox or Toyota's 1.8-liter hybrid powertrain, both of which fall short of the US-market 2.0-liter engine in terms of horsepower and torque.
