For the first time on our stage, blues and R&B legend Greg Piccolo brings his 7 piece band Heavy Juice for a night of tenor sax fueled rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and traditional jazz. Piccolo spent twenty five years as a core member of the legendary Roomful of Blues horn section, has shared stages with Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Pat Benatar, and is a New England Music Hall of Fame inductee with multiple Blues Music Award nominations. Now 75 and riding the acclaim of his new record "Who Knows What the Future Holds," he leads the band with no set list and no plan, letting the night move wherever his horn and voice take it. Six decades in, Piccolo remains one of the most distinctive voices in blues and traditional jazz.
The Fallout Shelter is an all ages 100-seat performance venue and state-of-the-art broadcast and recording studio, offering one of the most unique live music experiences in New England. Located in Norwood, MA, just 15 miles from Boston, The Fallout Shelter is run under the auspices of the Grass Roots Cultural and Performing Arts Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and advocating for traditional American Roots music.
