A host of leading players from around the world could feature during the latest round of games, including Ballon d’Or holder Ousmane Dembele and runner-up Lamine Yamal.
Reigning Premier League top scorer Mohamed Salah, La Liga counterpart Kylian Mbappe and one of the France captain’s Real Madrid teammates, Vinicius Junior, are also likely to be involved.

Lionel Messi: Angola vs Argentina
World Cup holders Argentina qualified for the 2026 finals in March and head to the Angolan capital of Luanda for a friendly on Friday, November 14 in what is expected to be a chance for manager Lionel Scaloni to give experienced to relatively untested players.
Messi scored twice as Inter Miami won 4-0 at home to Nashville on Saturday to advance to the MLS Conference semi-finals, in which they will play Cincinnati on November 23.

Cristiano Ronaldo: Portugal World Cup 2026 qualifiers
Cristiano Ronaldo is on the brink of booking a potential appearance at a sixth edition of the finals as the 40-year-old joins Portugal for qualifiers against Ireland in Dublin on Thursday, November 13 and Armenia in Porto on Sunday, November 16.
Portugal’s squad includes Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes among eight players from the Premier League, as well as the likes of Paris Saint-Germain pair Joao Neves and Vitinha.
Ronaldo and international teammate Joao Felix were among the scorers in a 3-1 win at NEOM on Saturday for Al-Nassr, who lead the Saudi Pro League by three points after winning their first eight matches and are next in action at home to Al-Khaleej on November 23.

Mohamed Salah: Egypt eyeing Afcon
Mohamed Salah scored nine goals across Egypt’s nine qualifying matches to help the Pharoahs reach the World Cup, with preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) at the end of December now their focus.
Egypt are heading to the Al Ain International Cup at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in the United Arab Emirates, where they will face fellow World Cup finalists Uzbekistan on November 14, followed by a game against Cape Verde or Iran.
Manchester City striker Omar Marmoush came on as a substitute in his side’s 3-0 win at home to Salah’s Liverpool on November 9, when the 2024/25 Premier League top scorer was a starter.
The Reds next play at home to Nottingham Forest on November 22, with City visiting Nottingham Forest on the same day.

Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele: France close in on World Cup
2022 finalists France will be guaranteed a place at the finals if they win at home to Ukraine on November 13, followed by their final qualifier in Azerbaijan on November 16.
Real Madrid striker Mbappe scored Les Bleus’ opener in their 3-0 home win over Azerbaijan on October 10, while Paris Saint-Germain will hope Dembele and winger Desire Doue come through the fixtures unscathed after the club described injuries sustained by the pair away to Ukraine in September as “avoidable”.
Madrid are top of La Liga and next play at Elche on November 23. Ligue 1 leaders PSG host Le Havre the previous day.

Alexander Isak: Sweden shoot for World Cup play-offs
Alexander Isak was not deemed fit enough to come off the bench for Liverpool against City but the £125m Premier League-record signing could feature as Sweden attempt to reach the play-offs for the World Cup in former West Ham manager Graham Potter’s first matches in charge.
Isak’s country must win in Switzerland on November 15 and at home to Slovenia on November 18 to have any chance of advancing by finishing second in their group.
Should they fail to, their ranking among their fellow teams to have won a 2024/25 Nations League group will decide whether they are in the play-offs.
Viktor Gyokeres was the competition top scorer during that Nations League season but the Arsenal striker is out through injury.

World Cup 2026 European qualifying path
The top team from each of the 12 European Qualifier groups proceeds automatically to the finals, which will be expanded to 48 teams.
The 12 runners-up in each group will join four Nations League teams in the play-offs, which will be drawn from pots based on teams’ records during the campaign. The games will comprise single-leg semi-finals and finals.
The draw for the World Cup finals will take place in December 2025. The tournament runs from June 11 until July 19 2026.
