Europa League round-up: Dismal night for Scottish sides as Celtic and Rangers both lose

It was a night to forget for Celtic and Rangers in the Europa League as both sides fell to defeat and have only one win between so far in this season’s competition.
Rangers, under new boss Danny Rohl, remain rooted to the bottom of the 36-team table after falling to a 2-0 home defeat to Serie A giants Roma.
Matias Soule gave the visitors a 13th-minute lead at Ibrox before Lorenzo Pellegrini doubled the advantage 10 minutes before the break.
The defeat means Rangers have lost all four of their Europa League games this season – one of only two sides with that unfortunate record.
Meanwhile, Celtic, overseen by temporary manager Martin O’Neill, were beaten 3-1 by current table-toppers Midtjylland.
The Danish side scored all three of their goals in a devastating eight-minute period in the first half.
Martin Erlic opened the scoring in the 33rd minute before goals from Mikel Gogorza and Franculino Dju all but ended the contest before the 41st minute.
Reo Hatate scored a consolation goal from the penalty spot late on, but it had little sway on the final result as the hosts maintained their perfect start in the competition.
For Celtic, they currently occupy 27th spot in the table.
Elsewhere, former Manchester United outcast Antony continued his resurgence at Real Betis, scoring the second in a 2-0 victory over Lyon.
Moroccan forward Abde Ezzalzouli grabbed the other goal as the LaLiga side moved into ninth.
Portuguese big-hitters Porto were held to a 1-1 draw at Utrecht, while Crvena Zvezda overcame Ligue 1 side Lille 1-0 in one of the shocks of the night.
Meanwhile, fans inside Estadio Municipal de Braga were treated to seven goal thriller as Genk beat hosts Sporting Braga 4-3.
Uruguay international Rodrigo Zalazar gave Braga the lead before the visitors turned the tie on its head with three goals from Daan Heymans, Yira Sor and Oh Hyeon-gyu.
Zalazar then pulled one back before Genk restored their advantage almost immediately through Yaimar Medina.
Fran Navarro then reduced the deficit late on to make an exciting last few minutes, but the Belgians held on to claim all three points.
Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros continued their fine start to the competition to move into third with a 3-1 victory over Ludogorets Razgrad.
