Preview for Los Angeles Rams @ San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers are still trying to find themselves as well as clinch a place in the playoffs.
The 49ers are 6-3 following last weekend’s win over the New York Giants and firmly in the middle of the NFC playoff race.
San Francisco have been hit by injuries in recent weeks, however, and it means they still aren’t quite sure how things will look when the sticking plasters come off.
“It’s still up in the air,” left tackle Trent Williams said. “I don’t think that we are set in stone of who we are. I think there’s a lot of ways to improve. [We’re] still a really young football team and each week of experience is very vital to all the development. Although we had a good win and the record is not too bad. I don’t think we’re at what we could be right now.”
Quarterback Brock Purdy is set to be sidelined again, meaning Mac Jones will get another chance under center.
The 6-2 Rams have bolstered their roster this week with the acquisition of cornerback Roger McCreary from the Tennessee Titans.
He played for the Titans as they lost to the Rams earlier in the season and said he was struck by how much fun his new team seemed to be having.
“They were having fun beating us,” McCreary said. “So, I see it in person now. Still having fun, guys joke [but know when it’s] time to get serious. You can tell that they trust and have fun with each other.”
